Orsolina28 is a place dedicated to the dance and to the joy and freedom that dance implies. The Studios with the wide windows, overlooking the vineyards, allow to dance in direct contact with the nature, the colours, the lights and all suggestions that any hour or season can convey. A place where getting connected with the nature and the ground so as to get a utter and deeper awareness of your own self through the study and practice of the art of movement.

Born in Cuba, starts studying ballet in 1962 in the United States with Magda Aunon, National Ballet of Cuba. She pursues her studies under the direction of Oleg Tulipe, Étoile and Danseur Noble of the Ballets Russes and, at the age of 17, she wins a scholarship at the Joffrey Ballet.

Her professional career starts in 1976 with the Cincinnati Ballet, where she works with Alessandra Danilova and Frederic Franklin. She continues dancing professionally till the 1983 with the Tulsa Ballet Theater, directed by Roman Jasinski, Étoile of the Ballets Russes, where she becomes Principal and dances in the major roles of the classic Russian Ballet repertory and the Balanchine’s.
With the Ballet du Nord she specializes afterwards in George Balanchine’s repertory and achieves then the top of her career with the Ballet Royal de Flandre, performing with Robert Denvers in the coreographies of Balanchine, Tudor and Nureyev. In 1990, after moving to Italy, she opens her own school Pro Arte Danza in Penango.

She is coreographer and teacher of ballet. Since 2008 she is directing entire ballets and creates an international cultural exchange with the Virginia School of the Arts (USA), with Bucharest – Romania, the Ft. Lauderdale Ballet (USA) and establishes Alba Dance.

Teacher

Her ballet studies begin with Sara Acquarone in Torino. She follows then advanced courses in the classic and contemporary techniques with outstanding international teachers at the Heinz Bosl Stiftung in Munich. In 1993 and 1994 she continues her studies in classic and contemporary Limon and Graham techniques in New York, in some oustanding schools: the Steps, the Ailey School and the Broadway Dance Centre.

She collaborates professionally as soloist in various productions, either classical and contemporary, with the company Teatro di Torino, directed by Loredana Furno, and with some famous coreographer and teachers, such as Nina Watt, Limon Foundation, NY. She performs, under Carla Perotti’s direction, with the company Balletto Italia where she performs in soloist roles in their productions and collaborates as coreographer. At the same time she attends the workshop of M. Monteverde, M. Bigonzetti and J. Alegado.

President of the Nuovo Steps Centro Produzione Danza from 1992 to 2010 she is teacher and organizer of regular courses of ballet, contemporary and modern dance. As a teacher she is Member of the I.D.A. and has attended regular seminars of infantine didactics and specifically in Propedeutic and Educational Dance.

Patrizia Crepaldi since 2005 is certificated 2nd Level Teacher Trainer at CONI-CSEN-PROGETTO ITALIA, getting the official academic certification by MIUR. Her most talented students today dance and study in the most prestigious Companies and Academies (Alvin Ailey | New York, Complexions | New York, English National Ballet School | London, Wiener Staatsoper Ballettschule | Wien, National EDCN | Lisboa, National Academy | Chisinau – Moldavia, Bolshoi Theatre Dance Academy | Moscow). With many of them she gets many outstanding awards in national and international contests, presenting some coreographies of her own and some of the classic repertory.

In 1993 starts her ballet studies at the Centro Danze in Casale Monferrato, under the direction of Stefania Zanatta. She regularly continues her studies and perfects with Philippe Pierson. At the age of 18 she moves to Torino to deepen her formation either in classic and contemporary technique at Arkè Danza Torino with Matilde Demarchi and Annagrazia D'Antico. There she studies the Graham, the Horton and the Humphrey techniques, while keeping studying the ballet at the Scuola del Teatro Nuovo.

In 2006 in Torino she meets Leonard Ajkun, who invites her to dance with the Ajkun Ballet Theatre in New York. She gets her degree in technique and didactics at L.U.D.T with the maximum grade.

Since 2010 she approaches the teaching of ballet technique, flanking the director of the school Danzarte in Casale Monferrato. In 2012 she collaborates and dances in the musical Nôtre Dame with the Company Ostinata Passione. The same year she starts studying the Pilates “mat work” technique and trains, by the NINETEEN HUNDRED PILATESANDANCE method, under Matilde Demarchi’s direction.

She presently teaches ballet technique, Pilates and stretching for dancers in various schools.

Executive Director

She has a Degree in Modern Letters from the Torino University. She starts her ballet and modern technique studies in Torino, perfecting afterwards with Susanna Della Pietra and Enrico Sportiello. She becomes assistant of the latter at the Dance Center from 1982 to 1986. In 1996 she gets the Maître de Ballet Certification at the School of Teatro alla Scala di Milano.

She has performed in various Italian companies, among them the “Balletti di Susanna Egri” and the “Compagnia Balletto Italia”. She has been teaching ballet and character dances in various cities in Italy. From 1987 to 1993 she is director of the Corps de Ballet and teacher of ballet at the Istituto Musicale Brera in Novara.

She has been coreographer e assistant producer in many italian and international productions, such as the “Gaité Parisienne” at Philadelfia Pennsylvania Ballet, “La Traviata”, event at Piazza del Campo in Siena, the “Vascello Fantasma”, on the occasion of the opening of the New Theatre of Macao, director of the “Carmina Burana” and the “Gran Galà” at Teatro Coccia in Novara.

Assistant director and stage director for many opera productions at the Arena di Verona, the Teatro Regio in Torino, the Carlo Felice in Genoa, the Donizetti in Bergamo, the Coccia in Novara and for the Festival Verdiano in Busseto, from 1994 to 2012 she is the artistic and managing director of the festival “Teatro Ragazzi” at Teatro Coccia in Novara. She is presently the Executive Director of Orsolina28.
