The Fall
Joy Alpuerto Ritter and Hannes Langolf are back in Orsolina28 to continue working on "The Fall."
Two strangers, in an unknown place, without rules, laws or concepts: starting from this premise, the artistic duo explores the possibilities for building a perfect future, in which the potential for chaos coexists with the opportunity to create a perfect order.
On July 20, "The Fall" will be presented on the Open Air Stage at Orsolina28.
Joy Alpuerto Ritter
Joy Alpuerto Ritter was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. She trained at the Ballettschule Armin Krain and learned Philippine Folk Dance in the cultural dance group led by her mother. Graduated from the Palucca School in Dresden (Germany) in 2004, Alpuerto Ritter started working as a freelance dancer with choreographers like Christoph Winkler, Heike Hennig Wangramirez, Constanza Macras and Yui Kawaguchi. After expanding her repertoire in urban dance styles, she became part of the Hip Hop and Voguing Ballroom culture scene in Berlin. In 2011 she joined Cirque du Soleil as a dancer and aerial artist for the Michael Jackson Immortal World Tour. She then joined Akram Khan Company as a dancer and rehearsal director for iTMOi, KAASH Revival and Until the Lions for which she was nominated as "Outstanding Female Dancer" by the National Dance Awards UK.
Since 2016 Alpuerto Ritter has been developing her own choreographic work with Alter Egos (Sophiensaele Berlin), Heimkehr (coproduction LOFFT das Theater), rOOms (Co-funded Creative Europe) and Unda (Barbican London). Her solo work BABAE was selected as an Aerowaves artist in 2020. She has established long-standing artistic collaborations with Akram Khan, Ballett Black, Chen Shi-Zheng, Riz Ahmed, Viviana Durante, Floria Sigismondi, Florence and The Machines.
Hannes Langolf
Throughout his career, Hannes Langolf has worked and collaborated with numerous artists and companies in Europe and beyond. These include William Forsythe, Angélin Préljocaj, Wayne McGregor, Akram Khan, Fabulous Beast and Punchdrunk to name a few. In 2007, he joined DV8 Physical Theatre, starting a long-term relationship with the company by forming part of the original cast of the critically acclaimed stage production “To Be Straight With You" (nominated for an Olivier Award). All three productions, conceived and directed by Lloyd Newson, toured internationally and enjoyed sell-out seasons at The National Theatre, London. Langolf became DV8’s Creative Associate in 2014 and continued this role for the much-anticipated re-creation of ”Enter Achilles” in 2019/20 as well as being the production’s Tour Director.
As an independent artist, Langolf has choreographed and directed numerous productions for stage and screen, including “DANDELION” (with Ermira Goro for The Onassis Cultural Center in Athens), “UNRUHE” (for and with the Susanne Linke Dance Company) and “THE FALL” (Supported by Orsolina28 and SkyArts).
In 2022, Langolf founded Moonwalking Bear Productions as a home for creative ideas, a hub for innovation and collaboration and a launch pad to support new talent.
