Students from the G. Cantelli Conservatory of Novara bring to the stage “From counterpoint to romantic and modern aesthetics” a reflection on different compositional styles and eras. The Baroque and neo-Baroque counterpoint of Domenico Scarlatti, John Dowland and Alexandre Tansman is opposed to the modern and contemporary aesthetics of Darius Milhaud and Italian Stefano Casarini, with the mediation of the virtuosic-romantic vein of Giulio Regondi.
Meanwhile, the G. Verdi Conservatory of Turin dedicates the evening, “Tadd Dameron Meets John Coltrane”, to be-bop composer and arranger Tadd Cameron and his association with John Coltrane, with songs from their regular repertoire.
The Conservatories in Piedmont project is an initiative of the Cultural Association Toret Artist Three Six Zero: its mission is to build a network of musical activities that supports and encourages young musicians to express their talent in public, supporting them in the transition from school to their professional life.
